01 · The category
It is not a task app with an AI button. It is the inversion of the model: instead of you feeding a container with structured items, the AI reads the unstructured stream of your life (voice, email, messages, calendar) and produces the structure for you. The user never tags, categorizes, or prioritizes unless they want to correct the AI.
02 · Why now
Cheap reliable function-calling (so the AI can act, not just talk). Multi-channel integrations stable (calendar, email, voice, messaging). And language models good enough at intent extraction that a sentence like "remind me to call mum on Sunday afternoon" produces the right task with the right relative date, in the right project. Before 2024, none of this was reliable enough to bet a daily workflow on.
03 · Where Taski fits
Taski was built backwards from the AI: the chat is the product, the database is what the AI writes into, and the dashboard exists only so you can see what was decided. There is no legacy task-app trying to grow an AI layer. The category is changing fast — this is the version built for it.
